Wayne Paul Theriault was born in Waterville, Maine and moved to California while still an infant. At a very young age, he showed a real talent for drawing, attempting to apply form and shape when drawing people and other objects. He was introduced to oil painting by his high school art teacher. He states that, “I never attended a formal school for art. I am self-taught. My best teacher was an old shoebox with several colored pencils and a couple of Walter T. Foster books on how to draw and paint.” Wayne is now retired and devotes all his time to traveling and painting.
